This application note demonstrates a technique for dynamically configuring a Xilinx Spartan-3E Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) over USB using EZ-USB FX2LPTM, a high-speed USB peripheral controller. After the FPGA is configured, FX2LP can act as a high-speed data path between the USB host and the FPGA. This capability of FX2LP enhances FPGA-based USB applications such as logical analyzers, oscilloscopes, image processing, and high-speed data acquisition.
